I am going to segregate my blog posts into two parts
1. Personal - (here) http://saneax.blogspot.comp
2. Technical - http://saneax.tumblr.com

Now I need to copy all the posts from tumblr (personal ones to here).

Why the emphasis on honestly

Suddenly their is too much emphasis on the word 'honestly'. I am not sure why?

I have begun to use it with every sentence now.

Running towards happiness

Honestly, the second image prompted me to blog :)

Rudra runs towards the cows far off. Honestly I wanted him to run! isnt it all of us want the same thing *Run to Happiness*?

Mediastan -Wow!

The truth is even weirder than fiction! I am speechless on this documentary. The one word comes to my mind is, you M* F* journalists. Alas there are a very few honest ones out their. The more hones you are the more likey you are going to be brutally killed or sidelined from the main stream. Whats happening to this world. One day after all this gimmick all of us have to die, then for whom are we doing all this?

Taish

I thought I would document words my kids say when starting to speak, just for my refernce (my frail Alzheimer prone brains). I am not sure, if its only me, but these words are priceless and I cannot hear when the kids grow up.

Spaces

Colors and spaces
like fast moving river
changes rapidly. as the sun races
down the horizon, a prayer
hold on please, stop, you wish it freezes
the moment in my life I wish to hover
for a bit more, ceases

my thoughts embraces
as the sun goes down, casts forever

Time flies

Time flies, and with that whatever we call life
no lies, however hard we call that life
when we are inching closer to death
when we shall cease to thrive

Life, why?
all that I built and saved will be gone, sigh
all those close and dear, no more one day
die, why?

To death,
I ask, all those years which I lived
you will take away,
all those memories I hid
you will take away
why?

Far across the horizon
the birds flew to their homes
as if dreams washed away
all those people and all those places roams

Gruesome

how gruesome, can it get?
how much more worse
how much more the greed, can it get
no shame, no remorse
heads hang, shamed, destroyed

If their was even a faint light at the end of tunnel
show it please, in vain I try
If any soothsayer can see the end, please tell
let me hear, when can i sigh

Lenovo T430 wifi doesnt work on debian wheezy 7.1

Well, all because the firmware's are distributed as a non-free package.

1. add non-free to your apt-get (edit /etc/apt/sources.list)
2. do apt-get update
3. install 'firmware-iwlwifi' (sudo apt-get install firmware-iwlwifi)
4. reboot

crossing over

what if water just passed
without you crossing over

years, echleons passed
day and night followed
cries and laughs drowned
like bubbles our lives vanished

what if water just passed
without you crossing over

sit down and see the sun set
see the flocks of birds returning
see the water flowing in that rivulet
see the long faces frowning

what if water just passed
without you crossing over

what if the aching heart pains
what if skies hold the rains

one day you will have crossed
one day pain would have ceased
the river here would be still flowing
the sun would still be setting
yeah, but, you would have crossed

Why Cricket sucks in India (Part II)

Part I is here.

Now that media and new paper have enough material going around, I feel I have already told you this is good. Good that the bad is coming out.

However, I damn care whether thats good or bad for cricket.

One batsman and 11 fielders standing idle is a game of Maharaja's.

Its a black spot in the the name of sports.

Even the Olympics council does not recognize it as a sports. Its a sports of the lazy, loosers.

If a nation full of lazy loozers are taken for a ride, I have no interest on the whole episode.

RIP, Cricket.
disclaimer.
I do not see cricket, and so most of my inputs are hearsay.

Large log on the disk, what to do?

Probably more so, if the log is impt and needs to be saved. Here are a few solutions I gathered -

single file, tar is not required, multiple files may be we would want to tar it also. We will tar/gzip and throw the output to stdout which will be piped to a pv (to show the progress) which is piped to nc -l (netcat listener)

(on source)
1. single large file
 gzip -c filename | pv | nc -l 4545
2. multiple large file or directory
tar czf - filename |  pv | nc -l 4545

(on target)

nc source-hostnmae 4545 > filename.gz  or nc source-hostnmae 4545 > filename.tar.gz

Need to write/speak

A horrendous crime done by insane men and a girl died brutally. We all hide our heads in shame! However, I am at loss of words at seeing

  • facebook updates with pictures of the girl, before and after and explicitly describing what happened.
  • news channels continuously debating and asking the public, 'what do you think about the incident?'
  • news channel going after the village and talking to every person in the village.
  • political parties running a race to give goodies like naming roads, day etc etc..
I am no saint, and probably even worse judge of things happening. But it surely feels like this society raped her again and again for their narrow objectives. TV trp ratings, political mileage, 2 minutes of limelight in front of a crowd.

RIP, probably this is a bad age.
