Worst Indian Bank (is it ICICI)


I do have some experience with a few banks - viz
Indian Bank
Allahabad Bank
State Bank of India
ICICI Bank
Deutsche Bank
Standard Chartered Bank
HDFC Bank
Union Bank of India
UCO Bank


Of all the interactions I have had wether it be loan/credit card/salary account/ etc I felt ICICI is the worst. The customer service is so pathetic that I decided to pen it here. Have any of you lately tried to put a complain? if not then do not even try, its virtually impossible.

I just wish like 'CIBIL', there should be a database of the banks how they operate. The highest complains etc. This central organization should be accessible to general public via multiple means.

I pray ICICI listens to the vows of its customers.


Ok Here comes again a shocker after 3 months :)

I use your neft fund transfer for paying my credit cards. Recently I owned a new card. I could'nt register it (which is OK). when I tried calling I was dropped twice. and the web UI was just too tough to get through. I will show the details here -


payee nick name - SCBManhattan

Comfirm payee code was not sent (nor to mail nor to my registered phone)

so here is what it says :


If you don't receive the URN, please make a request by sending
URN < payee nickname> as an SMS to 5676766 or 9837142424.This information is sensitive and you are requested not to share it with anyone.(Not applicable for Account to Card transfer)


I send a SMS (infact twice)

it replied

"you are not a registered for this service. To add or update your mobile number, please visit your nearest ICICI bank Branch, NRI customers visit ..."


Now... My phone number is registered as I already have confirmed payee accounts earlier on the same number. I checked my a/c on the sire, and the number is correct (not changed).


Now next altrnative call the customer care.. called 41131877 (twice) and eventually after long try I was dropped by your IVR. Why has it to be so difficult. I understand a lot of customers nagging always and you want only the real ones to reach you. But you are building a wall so strong that even the real customers are afraid and sick of these tactics.


now I try the the email 'send us an e-mail' way.

dear friend...just go to a branch nearby...just request the branch manager for opting a life insurance product of premium of 3 to 5 lacs..and mutual fund of 10 lacs and say that u will provide funds of some 10 lacs at there quarter end in ur account at their branch......just see the magic ....they will cross all limits to solve ur problems. .as all they wish they think they eat they drink they sleep ..is LIFE INSURANCE .. just try once...else forget about services
